Holly Valance Looks Set To Kiss Her Very First No.1

According to unofficial single numbers, Holly Valance, the lovely Australian vocalistress, looks all set to have her first number one placing in the official UK singles charts this Sunday.

Apparently, reports have established the fact that Holly, who fights for the top of the charts with Moby, has topped midweek sales with her debut track ‘Kiss Kiss’.

Turkish singer, Tarkan, first did the catchy ‘Kiss Kiss’, but it was in Turkish, entitled ‘Simarik’ {pronounced Shimaruk> and it soon proved to be a huge hit. Holly’s version has the same background music but it’s all sung now in English.

But as we all have come to know nowadays, hearing just the song will not get the artiste the chart position he/she deserves. Hence, a music video is pretty much a necessity to help garner more sales, even better if it’s a controversial one, which is exactly what Holly did.

She has confessed that she decided to peel off her clothes in the video for her debut single so that she’d make an impact on the charts. She also added that she simply had no intention of trying to outdo Kylie’s ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’ clip.Speaking to a magazine recently, the Neighbours starlet explained “I’m not competing against anybody. I don’t want to look like anyone and I don’t want to sound like anyone. I just want to be me. Kylie’s beautiful and she did a good job with that song but no way was I thinking ‘Right, I’m going to compete with her.'”

If you were actually thinking that she actually was naked in the video, think again. Holly has also told the press that she was in reality wearing a flesh coloured bikini in the shots in which she appears to be totally naked.

“I thought we needed some controversy, otherwise I’m going to be seen as Flick for the rest of my life. I may as well come in with a bang… So it’s basically for my entry into the musical world. I don’t think I’ll do another naked scene again.”

Meanwhile, Holly is already looking forward to her next single, which she says is a different kettle of fish altogether.

“See that’s what I want. Real variety ok. I mean, just take a look at Madonna. She’s done some pretty risque stuff in her time and it’s only brought her to the attention of more and more and more people.”

The Bollywood-like ‘Kiss, Kiss’ has, by now, dropped into your favourite music outlet so go grab a copy.

The Dish On Why Victoria’s So Slim

I, Kele Harvey, am going to share with all my fellow beautiful people logged in to Pop-Music.com the reason, directly off the mouth of my fave skinny dude, David Beckham, why all our fave sensations are all so friggin’ petite, guy or girl.

Using his ‘Not Such An Innocent Girl’ Mrs as a fine example, David, who makes this comments to a leading female magazine, says the reason why both him and his wife are so slim because they have vigorous love-making sessions, what with him being an animal in bed.

In the interview conducted by the woman’s magazine, David also denies rumours that Victoria underwent fertility treatment, saying the couple had been waiting for the right time to have a second child because of their hectic schedules. He also said that before Victoria became pregnant, he enjoyed “practising” for a while.

Asked if the reason for the former Spice Girl’s slim figure was the fact that he was an animal in bed, David replied “That’s definitely one of the true ones!”

The soccer star, in addition, also mentioned that he loves being a gay pin-up idol and icon.

So, there you have it guys. Sex makes our pop sensations elfins, huh? Wonder what Kylie does to be so small? Think about this, chaps.

To Love Her Is To LovHer

To know her is to LovHer…

That’s the motto of LovHer, a fresh female R&B quartet created, named and produced by hip-hop star Sisqo. Hoping to give Destiny’s Child a run for their money, LovHer, made up of Kenji, 25, Serenade, 22, Chinky, 22 and Buttah, 21 are already getting loads of airplay on the radio with their hot single ‘How It’s Going To Be’ from their forthcoming self-titled album that drops on the 16th of July.

All 4 girls have been together for three years and are from different parts of the States, namely Milwaukee, Baltimore and Los Angeles. They’ve assured critics that they may very well hail from different parts of America but it certainly does not mean they all don’t share a common goal. It also does not mean that they’re going to split up in record time. Think SWV, Xscape, En Vogue and more.

Sisqo first introduced them to the music world on a cut entitled ‘Is Love Enough’, which’s taken off his multi-platinum debut LP ‘Unleash The Dragon’. That was their very first taste of being artistes and immediately after that, they were busy clocking in plenty of studio time that lasted 3 years.

3 years? That’s a tad too long, isn’t it? Well, not according to the girls. They feel that by having taken 3 years before they finally put out their debut LP, a maturation process was pretty much a necessity in order to help the quartet understand each other both musically and personally.LovHer’s virgin single, ‘How It’s Going To Be’ is basically all about a girl dating a hustler and she knows it isn’t right but she’s willing to stand by her man. Other numbers that can be found on their album would surely include ‘Do You Know Me’, a song that points the finger at those who act brand new and want to tell the whole universe that they’re doing well. On ‘Don’t Leave’, apparently they beg their man not to go but to stay and work things out. Another LovHer number would be the confrontational ‘Your Man’ that’ll essentially see you tuned in to a woman-to-woman conversation about a no-good man.

All in all, I find that these girls can sing, possess good looks and what’s even better for them is that there aren’t any female R&B bands around currently, now that Destiny’s Child’s taken a hiatus and are concentrating on their own solo projects. Nowadays, it just seems like to be extremely successful in the music industry, all they’ve to do really is to merely stay away from writing predictable songs and just pass the girl-group living-expectancy time frame.

Anyway, you can go visit the LovHer ladies at their official homepage, conveniently located at: www.lovher.com

Jamiroquai Intends To Own A Cannabis Cafe

Jamiroquai’s flamboyant lead vocalist, Jay Kay has declared that cannabis ought to be permissible. He has once rolled a massive joint, up on stage in Glasgow, tempting the crowd to share it with him.

Now in a bid to take his fondness for the drug a step further, Jay Kay has every intention of running his very own cannabis cafe to be located in the West End of London. Apparently it has been said that he’s willing to splurge out more than GBP1 million to get his Amsterdam-style project kicking.

A source close to the star said “Jay sees it as a cooler and more laid-back version of the Groucho Club. He’s meant to be a silent partner but it’s going to be hard to stop him from having a hands-on role in the business. He’s determined to get this project off the ground. He’s always said that alcohol is more dangerous than marijuana and if people can buy drink, why can’t they buy that? We know that in Holland it’s fine to sell small amounts of dope in coffee shops but at the moment in UK, our laws don’t allow it, so we’re going to see how it goes with the officials and all and hopefully it’ll be smooth.”In other news, Jamiroquai’s keyboardist Toby Smith has quit the band to spend more time with his family. His exit from the group is all-peaceful and upcoming projects have not been ruled out.

“It is sad to see him go but I totally understand the commitment Toby feels for his family and the strains of being away from home for long periods. I wish him all the best” said Jay.

The band’s summer live shows are unaffected by Toby’s departure.
