Rik Waller’s Not Losing But Gaining Weight

Rik Waller is piling on the pounds rather than losing them during his stay in the TV series, Celebrity Fit Club. Rik is one of a number of bulky showbiz figures who are trying to slim for the forthcoming series.

Big Rik went to weigh himself this week on the scales at Champneys Health Farm in Hertfordshire and discovered he’d put on 10 lbs!

Said a source “Rik was very upset. He fled to his room and wouldn’t come out.”

The other celebrity contestants on the show include DJ Jono Coleman and Tory MP Ann Widdecombe.

The producers of the show are the same people who made Fat Club but they have changed the title of the new show to Fit Club, fearing that, otherwise, celebrities wouldn’t have taken part.

Shakira Was At First Taken Aback With Britney Comparisons

A website reports that Shakira was actually initially surprised to hear comparisons to Britney Spears in both the US and the UK. The reason why she was first taken aback at the Britney comparisons was because it’s something that hasn’t happened to her in Columbia.

“It’s funny. You know, my fellow Latin people understand me little by little with each album. They don’t compare me to Britney, at all” the beautiful ‘Objection (Tango)’ vocalistress said.

“They’d be like, ‘What? Britney?!’ Nothing wrong with Britney. She’s a great artist and very beautiful, but I was pretty surprised to be compared to her.”

Justin’s Family Thrilled About Britney Break-Up

According to Justin Timberlake’s grandmother Sadie Bomar, the family is happy the N’Sync star is no longer dating Britney Spears.

“We are delighted they aren’t dating any more” said Sadie. “The break-up has been good for him. He has been able to do a lot of song writing.”

“You know something, Britney was just a distraction.”

“I don’t talk to her, though Justin’s mum does from time to time. Justin is laid back about it all. He doesn’t care.”

Justin recently splashed out on a new, GBP5million luxury villa in the Hollywood Hills, a few miles from the love nest he bought with Britney.

But Sadie, who lives next door to Justin’s mum in Memphis, insisted Britney wouldn’t be welcome at her grandson’s.

She added “I have an invitation to go up there and stay next week. But Britney won’t be getting one.”

Daniel Bedingfield Wants To Work With Darius Danesh

Garage star Daniel Bedingfield has revealed that plans are in the pipeline to write a song with Pop Idol contestant Darius.

In an interview, Daniel exposed “I do plan on writing a song for Darius’ album because I like people who write their own stuff. We’re going to talk about it after Top Of The Pops, we’re going to have a chat about it and hopefully get something sorted.”

“I’m really looking forward to it because I think he is a good bloke. I’m quite impressed with what he has done.”

“I’m not a massive fan of Pop Idol but I think he’s done really well for himself and he writes his own songs.”

Daniel, whose garage hit ‘Gotta Get Thru This’ took the charts by storm when it shot straight to No. 1 last year, also expressed his desire to work with David Gray, Coldplay and U2 singer Bono.

“‘Gotta Get Thru This’ was a phenomenon. It wasn’t just about how good the song was. I could put out a better song now and it wouldn’t necessarily stay there for as long as it did” he said.

His new album and single, ‘James Dean (I Wanna Know)’, which, like his last was made in his bedroom, can be found in stores now.

Avril Lavigne has gotten a quick lesson in the world of pop star posers as a pop up message upon entering the singer’s official site reads “I just want all of you guys to know that some idiot out there is posing as me and sending emails to various message boards, dissing my fans and just being a jerk in general.”

“One of the email addresses he/she is using is emailavril@aol.com but he/she keeps changing them. First of all I don’t have an AOL account and I would never put my name in my email address. And most importantly, I love all my fans. I would never take them for granted or say anything bad about them.”

“Please just ignore this pathetic person out there who has nothing else better to do than sit at home by him/herself and pretend he/she is me… obsessed!”

Whitney Houston Did Not Show Up For Music Video Shoot

New details on Whitney Houston’s upcoming album have emerged. Unfortunately, it’s not good news for Whitney fans.

The singer decided at the last minute that everything intended for her first new video in two years, ‘Whatchulookinat’, was wrong, particularly the script, so she didn’t show up to the shoot.

The song’s cold reception from radio and reviewers may mean the song won’t be the first out on her new album, an album which is being plagued by delays over Whitney missing studio appointments.

Looks Like Mariah Carey Won’t Be Dressing Like Britney Spears

MSNBC’s Jeannette Walls reports executives at Mariah Carey’s new Island/Def Jam label are urging the singer to drop her slutty outfits.

“In the last few years, she’s started looking and acting too provocatively” says a source. “She wasn’t doing herself any favors. She shouldn’t try to look like Britney Spears. She has her voice going for her. They’ve told Mariah to re-think her image.”

The source says the advice seems to have been effective. “Mariah’s not going to start wearing a potato sack, but Lyor Cohen’s advice really hit home.”

Meanwhile, Jimmy Jam who worked with Mariah, says “She’s very rested now. Her voice sounds wonderful”. Jimmy also says he’s confident the new album will outsell Mariah’s last album ‘Glitter’. “I feel good about its chances, sales-wise” he said.

For now, it’s said that Mariah’s first single will be a beautiful ballad called ‘Through The Rain’.

Usher Hit On Mis-Teeq’s Alesha, According To Harvey

Harvey recently revealed why he called his US R&B counterpart Usher a “prat” during an interview.

“We were at a show performing on the same bill and just the way he went on, like he thought he was better than anyone else. It was ‘me, me, me,'” the former footballer told the papers.

Usher made things worse by attempting to chat-up Harvey’s girlfriend, Alesha from Mis-Teeq. “You know, he’s lucky I wasn’t there because for sure I would have knocked him out” threatened the member of the negative-news-plagued So Solid Crew.

On a more romantic note, Harvey, who topped New Nation’s Sexiest People In The World poll, told the paper that if he and Alesha get married, fans can expect to see glossy magazine pictures.

“The celebrity photo shoots? Everybody keeps asking about that but it’s not a bad thing. Why not live it up? Not a lot of young black people have that opportunity” he said “At the end of the day, just enjoy it while it lasts.”

Harvey’s single, out on 22nd of August, is called ‘Get Up And Move’.

Blue’s Lee In Go-Karting Accident, Needs Surgery

Blue’s Lee Ryan was rushed to hospital the other night after suffering injuries in a go-karting accident. Lee now faces surgery after he was thrown out of the kart at high speed.

Lee hit the tarmac face down as he was thrown out of the kart. The band were doing a a photo shoot at the race track at Mile End Park in East London. Lee soon decided to take the kart for a 40mph spin around the track.

Lee’s accident may now force the band to cancel their planned promotional tour of Asia. They were due to jet out later this week.

Lee has now left hospital and is back at home. He is due to see doctors next week to determine whether he will need skin grafts to the face and chest.

Simon Cowell Slammed Britney, Shakira, Vanessa Carlton

The ‘American Idol’ judges recently stopped by to critique the artists on MTV’s Total Request Live.

Simon started it off by making a nasty remark about Shakira’s ‘Objection (Tango)’ saying “Right, that sounds like Ricky Martin with a high voice. Out of 10 we’ll give the song 2.”

Later, Simon was asked who doesn’t really cut it on the TRL countdown. “Vanessa Carlton for being totally miserable” he said. “Cheer up, girl! You know, it’s a lovely day, sunny, you live in America, be happy!”

As for Britney Spears and her ‘Boys’ remix, Simon blasted “Okay. That was, uhm, Britney Spears with an absolutely apalling song. Britney, go back to the school uniform! Go back to Max Martin and write some decent songs because that song is terrible. Terrible!”

It wasn’t all negative remarks from Simon though as he commented about Avril Lavigne “I really like her. You know what, she’s real! Really makes a change.”With that said, people have been posting on message boards all over the place, saying that Simon is just pathetic. See, research by fellow fans show that Simon, who works for BMG, would not diss any artists from there, like Avril (Arista/BMG), Pink (Arista/BMG), Whitney Houston (Arista/BMG), Christina Aguilera (RCA/BMG).

He slammed those signed elsewhere. For instance, like Vanessa Carlton who works for Universal and Shakira’s on Sony.

Britney Spears, they reckon, he just genuinely don’t like as she’s from Jive and Jive’s owned by BMG and Clive Davis.
