Star magazine reports that Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter was jealous of Nicole Ritchie’s friendship with his ex-girlfriend Paris Hilton and tried to railroad their friendship.
“Nick was tring to turn Paris against Nicole. He was always jealous of their friendship,” a source revealed.
“In fact, most of Paris and Nicole’s fights had to do with Nick’s behavior.”
The Associated Press reports an estimated 15,000 American Idol hopefuls began arriving to Cleveland Browns Stadium on Tuesday, August 2at 6 am and planned to sleep out all night for a shot at tryouts Wednesday morning.
Cleveland was the first city in the country to host auditions for the Fox show’s fourth season to be aired early 2005.
“It’s worth every minute of it,” said Antonio Crane, a 27 year old from Wisconsin, who arrived in Cleveland on Monday.As temperatures climbed toward the high 80s, hopefuls who want to be the next Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard or even freshly crowned Fantasia Barrino, shaded themselves with umbrellas and waved fans while sitting on the heat-baked concrete outside the stadium. Armed with playing cards, bottled water and sleeping bags, participants geared up for hours of waiting.
The first person in line was Levi Morse, 17, of Gladwin, Michigan. He managed his feat by knowing the correct place to stand. Others had lined up at the wrong gate.
His mom, Shelley Morse, said she had to get time off from each of her three jobs to accompany her son to the auditions. Participants under 18 must have a legal guardian with them.
“He’s going to be the next American Idol,” she said.
Idol producers will decide who in the crowd will report to a second round of tryouts Thursday. Then executive producers Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick will pick who auditions for judges Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell on August 14 and 15 at a city hotel.
The celebrity trio will decide who gets to go to the Hollywood phase of the auditions, where a dozen finalists are subjected to audience telephone votes.
Participants throughout the line clapped and cheered for the other would-be contestants as they performed for the television cameras or practiced aloud.

Rachel Stevens has furiously defended pop music insisting it isn’t a “dirty word.”
The former S Club star said, “Pop should never be a dirty word, and I don’t agree that you need to grow up in a garage with a guitar making your fingers bleed in order to be considered a musician. Just because you’ve come from a pop background it doesn’t mean you have no right to make music.”

Robbie Williams hopes to shed some weight by playing more golf.
“I used to play just twice a week but now I’m out there every day for up to six hours,” he said.
“It’s such great exercise and more fun than a gym. Sweating and panting sucks. Golf’s way better than any exercise or diet to be thin.”
Former Atomic Kitten Jenny Frost has just finished recording her debut solo album. It is due out later this year.
She has also recorded her first single, called Hey Kitty, with Wu-Tang Clan.

A source tells Jeannette Walls of MSNBC.com that after threat of a lawsuit, not only is Star magazine not allowed to write about Jennifer Lopez without her permission, but the other American Media property, the National Enquirer isn’t either.
The Enquirer’s current issue refered to J.Lo’s ex-husband Cris Judd as the guy “who used to be married to singer Marc Anthony’s new wife.”
Jennifer Ellison has struck up a friendship with fellow actress Minnie Driver on the set of new flick Phantom Of The Opera. And Jennifer reveals that Minnie is also planning a pop career.
“Her stuff is kind of like Sheryl Crow,” explains the beautiful star. “It’s really different. It’s great. You’ll be surprised.”
In fact lantern-jawed Minnie, 34, has just signed a GBP1m deal with EMI Records and will release her debut single, Everything I’ve Got In My Pocket in September.
“She actually played a lot of her stuff to me when we were on set,” continues Jennifer, whose new single, Bye Bye Boy has just been released. “She’s got an amazing voice.”
The Daily Star reports that the new boyfriend of Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding has issued a warning to her previous guy, Mikey Green of Phixx.
When Calum Best was introduced to Mikey a few weeks ago, he told the singer, “Good to meet you but trust me mate, it’s the first time and the last. I won’t be seeing you ever again.”
A pal of Calum’s revealed that, “He feels threatened by Mikey because of how long he and Sarah were together. However, he is not prepared to tolerate any kind of relationship between them.”
But despite the heavy hint, it appears that Mikey is not prepared to back off that easily and has declared, “We’re friends, we see each other every now and again and we are texting all the time. So who knows what will happen?”
