Prince, Madonna Sold A Lot Of Tickets

Prince’s tour tops this year’s Pollstar list of 2004’s Top 100 Tours at the midway point of the year with $45.7 million in grosses. He has sold a total of 737k tickets, with an average gross of $1.038 million per show, based on an average ticket price of $61.59.

Madonna’s Re-Invention Tour comes in right behind selling $44.9 million worth of tickets. Madonna sold 258k total tickets at an average price of $174.17 (highest in the Top 100).

Madonna also has the largest average gross per show at a whopping $6.414 million. She has approximately another 642,000 further tickets sold for the remaining concerts. This will put Madonna’s total concerts in excess of $120,000,000 for 2004.

Britney comes in at number 13 moving 299K tickets for a total of 18.9 million.

Britney Spears Kisses Aishwariya Rai And Others In Movie?

The biggest ever budgeted Bollywood movie is in the works according to industry sources. Britney Spears along with Indian acting divas such as Rani Mukherjee, Aishwarya Rai and Preity Zinta may all work together on the flick.

There are many other Hollywood and Bollywood bombshells being considered too but these are the names so far that are being bandied about.

The story is about four Indian female students in Columbia University finding life in Manhattan, New York real ‘interesting’. In order to manage their studies they need money but do not have work permits. They indulge in all kinds of work and finally join hands with their American classmates in Upper East Side of Manhattan. They fall in love with Britney and others and finally settle in life!

The movie has multi million dollars budget and will dwarf anything you have seen before. No Indian actors are being considered. It has plenty of lesbian love and solid western style sexual scenes.

Britney Spears’ i-squad reports that the singer’s first fragrance with Elizabeth Arden has already been unveiled to press and retailers. It will hit stores such as Macy’s and Nordstrom in late September.

The line is comprised of Eau de Parfum (1.7 fl oz priced at $39.50), Eau de Parfum (3.3 fl oz priced at $49.50), Deliciously Whipped! Body Souffle priced at $24.00, Lather Me Up! Shower Gel priced at $20.00 and Write On! Perfumed Shimmer Stick priced at $20.00.

No word on how Elizabeth Arden execs feel about Britney Spears’ recent unkempt appearance possibly swaying opinion about the beauty product line.

Estelle Wants You To Buy Her Single

Estelle, UK’s brightest rapping talent will bring out her brand spanking new single 1980 via label V2 come July 19.

Estelle has been around for years, working mostly underground. Pop music fans should remember her as the rapper who did a bit of rapping for the 3SL boys a couple of years back.

She spoke recently to a press member “I love the idea that I have a single coming out. I do hope people go out and buy what I’ve worked so hard on.”

1980 is a brilliant slice of infectious hip hop that comes highly recommended. Get yours soon.

Eric West New Album Track List

Rising American R&B-Pop singer Eric West has a lot going on for himself, a funky new album, a photo spread in Marie Claire Magazine, and a new music video being released late summer. The track list for his US and UK debut CD “Half-Life,” has been unveiled. The 13-track set, due Sept. 28 (UK) and Sept. 29 (US) via BMG opens with the single “Can’t Be Friends,” which is being serviced to CHR/Rhythmic and Urban radio in August, it follows his non-album release “Can You Help Me?,” which topped radio charts in Latin America and was Top 5 on Australian Digital Sales charts.

For those who are just finding out about Eric his credits include appearances on MTV and VH1, he wrote a song for Cher with Grammy winning producers Carole Bayer Sager and David Foster famous for their work with Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, and Whitney Houston, was honored with a Humanitarian Award from the OTCN in New York City, and at 15 was the youngest DJ in the history of FM radio in New York.

“Half-Life” has been described as “a touching composition,” “lyrics of inner strength and melody’s so breathtaking and organically flowing,” “inspired recordings and a showcase for all that this artist can accomplish when you don’t put yourself into a box with the rest, recordings that take you back to the time when music and lyrics meant something.”

According to the press, the boys of McFly have some very girly habits, with Danny topping the band’s culprits for vanity crimes.

“My hair takes the longest to do. I have to use a straightener or it goes curly. We are all pretty cool metrosexuals,” revealed the cheeky northerner.

The boys also revealed that moisturisers are a huge must plus perfumes too.

The Mirror has reported that Victoria Beckham forked out a whopping GBP10,000 on a party for Brooklyn to say farewell to his classmates before he departs for Spain.

Donkey rides and a model railway were part of the entertainment at Victoria and David’s swish home, Beckingham Palace.

A chum of the pouting pop princess said, “She really adores her sons and wants to do anything she can for them. She knows that moving to Madrid is essential to keep the family together, but it’ll be a big strain on Brooklyn as he has a lot of friends who he’ll miss.”
