Alicia Keys Works Hard In Studio For Album No 2

Alicia Keys wrote a journal update on her official site the other day updating fans on her forthcoming album, and the tough work that has gone along with it.

The multiple Grammy winner said, “You know I’ve been in the studio for about 2 months straight and it just gets better and better. This album is something special. I can FEEL it… But being there for 2 months, 6 days a week, 14 hours a day, can lead you to a need for a day of some straight chilling!”

“Which leads me to right now as I’m in the bed, lights low, covers up to my chin, 2 books on the side of me and bout to have a movie marathon! All alone in a room and loving it!”

Mariah Carey Thinks Ashanti’s Gifted

Mariah Carey’s official online fan club, Honey B. Fly, announced that Murder Inc. recording artist Ashanti will be the supporting act for the North American dates on Mariah’s upcoming
‘Charmbracelet’ tour.

An un-named source revealed “Mariah thinks Ashanti’s really gifted and that the lady’s got an excellent voice. It’s only about 80% confirmed that Ashanti’s coming on as a support act. Anything can change though.”

Popstars’ Rejects, Phixx Work With Lee From Blue

Popstars: The Rivals’ rejects, namely Peter, Andrew, Chris, Nick and Mikey are hoping to do a Liberty X. Going by the name Phixx collectively, the pop outfit went on radio the other day to introduce themsevles to the masses.

Chris gushed and talked about working with Blue’s Lee Ryan, saying that Lee was “the most talented guy any of us have ever ever worked with. He’s a brilliant songwriter, producer, singer. People will print things but the fact that people like Lee with the talent he and his band have got behind them, believe in us, is a bona fide huge compliment.”

Their debut number is one called “Gett Off” and it’s a cover. Done originally by Prince, Phixx’s version is slated to hit the stores sometime in July.

Avril Lavigne’s dating rules were explained by the pop punkster herself, saying she’d have to see a boyfriend, if she actually had one, at least four times a week and that would mean that she has to choose between her career and romance.

She said, “I think being single at this point is pretty cool because I can be myself without worrying about, for instance, if I dress a certain way, will he think I look good.”

Avril admits that her bouncer keeps a lot of potential suitors away, “If any guy approached me, he’d probably have to go through the bouncer first and would have to tell the guy to beat it before ending up to the lovely me.”

According to the papers, Kelly Clarkson absolutely refuses to put herself on super-strict diets to achieve a model-esque body.

“I enjoy working out. But I don’t do the whole diet thing. Who wants to die on a diet?”

Moby And More Set To Play At The Eden Project

Mercury Music Prize winner PJ Harvey has announced that she will be one of several stars taking part in this year’s Eden Project.

The singer, who’s just about to start work on the follow-up to her album ‘Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea’, will play the annual Cornish event on the 15th of August, just a day before she appears at V2003.

Other stars taking part in the sessions include Badly Drawn Boy who appears on the 1st of August and Moby.

“I am really excited about this. I just can’t wait really. I think it’s all good and everybody should come and enjoy the Eden Project” said Moby.

“I play on the 5th of August so I’ll be looking forward to seeing all of you there.”

In other news, it has been confirmed WOMAD is also taking place at the event on 22nd of August.

Emma Bunton, Madonna Eyeing New Underwater Album

Underwater Music is gearing up for the release of its second compilation, ‘Underwater Episode Two’, mixed by label boss, Darren Emerson and Brixton-based dirty funkers, Mutiny. It will hit the shops come 16th of June.

The new mix will feature tracks from the likes of Paul Jackson, Gus Gus and Mutiny as well as Tim Deluxe with ‘Less Talk More Action’, his highly anticipated follow-up to last year’s huge summer anthem ‘It Just Won’t Do’.

There will be 3000 limited edition copies of the compilation in a colour gel pack filled with blue water-like oil. Darren commented ‘It’s an Underwater album so we thought we’d package it giving the impression of underwater style or something!

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that the album is such hot material so much so that Madonna, Craig David, Emma Bunton and more would like to get their hands on their copy of the LP.

Emma was reportedly quoted saying “I love the previous Underwater album and this one is going to be real super.”

Prince William Wants Pink, Emma, Mis-Teeq, Shania And More

Prince William has put together a wish list of artists he wants to appear at his party in June, which includes Shania Twain, Coldplay, Pink, Ozzy Osbourne, former Spice Girl Emma Bunton, Britney Spears, Atomic Kitten, Mis-Teeq, and Will Young.

According to his people, ‘Prince William is very happy with the list he’s come up with and he just knows it’s going to be simply spectacular having it at the Windsor Castle. He also wants a party that won’t be as formal where he can let his hair down with his friends’.

‘He feels that a party with pop names performing will be much more enjoyable for his group of friends.’

Craig David Thinks Eminem And Mandy Moore Can Act

Craig David refuted reports that he was planning to launch a film career. He told the press recently, “Making three-minute promo videos lets me act and it’s great fun, but that will do me for now. I’ve seen those stars assume they can go straight into acting and I can’t help thinking they would have been better sticking to the day job.

“The only recent exception I can think of is Eminem, who was brilliant in ‘Eight Mile’ and of course, the wonderful Mandy Moore in ‘A Walk To Remember’.”
