‘Charmbracelet’ is the name of Mariah Carey’s upcoming debut album for her MonarC Music label, according to the singer. The album is due out on the 10th of December.

“Charm bracelets have always had a personal and sentimental significance for me” Mariah Carey explained in a statement. “Charms are like pieces of yourself that you pass on to other people.”

“Items that tell your story, and that can be shared… like a song. The bracelet represents the foundation of this album, a body of work that encompasses many feelings.”i

Destiny Child To Appear On Liza & David Show

Liz Smith of the New York Post reports Liza Minelli and David Gest ran into Beyonce Knowles and Kelly Rowland of Destiny’s Child at Sylvia’s.

Liz says, “It appears these destiny-ed girls will rejoin with their other partner, Michelle Williams, to guest on the first Liza and David show.”

Beyonce’s mother, Tina, will be along too. She designs the girls’ outfits and is running up some new looks for Liza as well.

Sophie Ellis Bextor Loves Her New Hair Colour

Sophie Ellis-Bextor checked in with fans on her official forum last week and provided details on her new video, and new hair color.

“Well I have dyed my hair red. I love it” she said. “At first I went kind of auburn, then for the video for the new song, it’s very classic red and I’ve now settled for a raspberry/purple do.”

“I am very happy with it. It is permanent dye. Dark brown is my natural state and I think it suits me the best but I’ve been that colour pretty much non-stop for yonks and I wanted a change. It’s a bit of fun.”

Pink Prefers Nick Carter To Justin Timberlake

Pink was interviewed by reporters the other day and was asked about the supposed rivalry between Justin Timberlake and Nick Carter and all of the hype behind it.

She stated that Nick’s material is something that “everyone should listen to” and that it sounded more “real” than the music of Justin Timberlake.

She closed by saying that she was definitely supporting Nick Carter over Justin.

Norah Jones To Do More Gigs In Singapore Again

Norah Jones will be coming down to Singapore again – this time for a full concert! And it’s all because of popular demand!

The talented 23 year old singer and pianist was in town last month for the taping of MTV Asia Sessions at the Victoria Concert Hall. She will be here again to perform at Raffles City Convention Center on the 23rd of January 2003, at 8 pm.

Enrique Was Not In Accident

Enrique Iglesias checked in with fans on his official website last Friday saying, “Hi guys It’s Enrique, I’m in Mexico on tour. It’s been a great week so far.”

“There is a rumor going around that I was in an accident. Well guess what? I wasn’t, I’m fine, and looking forward to seeing all of you. I get back to the states next week. See you all soon.”

Technically, he’s right, his van just got stuck, at least that is what the photos and Mexican press showed.

The successful Ace of Base comeback effort continues to grow in degree and scope.

Their latest album (out in most of Europe this month and in the UK, France and North America later this year or next year) was kicked off with the debut single “Beautiful Morning.” The song is perhaps a safe single choice for a group that has been absent from the world music scene for quite a few years.

But so far the success of the single is astonishing for a pop band that first debuted on the charts ”over 10 years ago”

The album release for North America is set for next year.

In Scandinavia “Unspeakable” has been tentatively selected while in Germany-Switzerland-Austria and other territories represented by Universal Music (Polydor) “The Juvenile” is planned for release once “Beautiful Morning” has run its course on the charts.

Victoria And David Beckham Clinches Six Figure Deal In Asia

Victoria and David Beckham have been signed up by giant Japanese cosmetics firm TBC – Tokyo Beauty Center on a six figure deal and are about to start shooting poster ads at locations in Britain reported UK Tabloid The Sun.

But fans in Britain will not get a chance to see Posh and Becks modelling the make-up. The billboard ads will appear only in Asia. The pictures are being shot by Dean Freeman, who took all the pictures for the United star’s 2000 biography, Beckham: My World.The profile of Posh and Becks has rocketed in Asia since the World Cup in June. England were captained by Beckham and he was embraced by Japanese youngsters as their own. An insider at TBC said: “It’s a huge deal and one the firm insisted the couple sign together. “Believe it or not, David is probably a bigger star in Japan than he is in England. “Victoria’s music is very popular too. The Spice Girls were massive here. “They are a couple every Japanese citizen recognises immediately – especially after the last World Cup. ”

The adverts are being shot in England at a stately home and will try to retain the Britishness of David and Victoria while promoting the product. “Exact figures on how much they signed for are being kept top secret but it is in six figures.”

Dannii Minogue Plays At Small Club

It seems like a lifetime ago when there was serious debate about who was best – Kylie or Dannii Minogue. It was not uncommon for people who wanted to seem cooler than thou to proclaim that they prefered Dannii to her pint-sized songstrel sis.

To be fair, Dannii did notch up a nice run of hits, and even made it to No 3 last year. But she’s never quite taken over the world like Kylie.

Now the not-so-mighty have fallen ever farther, to a tiny 250 capacity club in Newcastle. Or at least that’s how the tabloids are reporting it. They’re full of snide comments about how she’s desperate and in the dumps.

But the club night, in The Cluny Bar, also featured Sarah Whatmore, Marcella Woods and Dirty Vegas. It was probably a try out gig for new material in a small venue. It’s something lots of stars do on the quiet.

So just beware of tabloid spin, folks. They would have you believe Dannii’s washed up, but there’s a new record deal, a new single coming and she’s working with top people like Roger Sanchez.

Will Young Is Not Letting Fame Get To Him

Will Young is a man with worries. Skin worries that is. He’s so concerned about the state of his face that when he goes to photo shoots he takes his own special make-up artist, stylist and hairdresser to make him look good.

But he’s concerned this may make him seem a bit demanding and is apparently, “quite insecure about coming across as a diva.”

He said “I’ve seen horrid shots of me looking rough and spotty, so now I try to appear well-groomed.”

The vocalist is also determined not to lay it on thick when he’s away from home and staying in hotels. He asks that he only be booked into small rooms and not big luxury suites because, “Hey, it’s only me, I don’t need much space.”

Way to go, Will. Nice to know someone isn’t letting fame go straight to their heads unlike a certain runner-up.
