16 November 1999: News on the new single by Steps has been announced. Those who have been on the recent Arena tour will know that they performed a cover of Kylie's "Better The Devil You Know". Well, a double-A side featuring this monster track is due for a release just before Christmas (December 13th) so let's see if we can make the last number one song of the Millienium a Steps song!

18 October 1999: The brand new album by Steps, Steptacular, is released in the UK today. The album is fanastic and features a whole host of hits. 14 tracks each of which could be hit singles in the their own right! Great stuff!

11 October 1999: "After The Love Has Gone" has entered the UK Chart at Number One. Too bad they missed out on the top spot - there's always next week & the new album to look forward to!

4 October 1999: "After The Love Has Gone", the brand new single by Steps, has hit the UK shops today! The CD Single features the Album Version, W.I.P Mix and a track from the upcoming album called My Best Friend's Girl.

1 October 1999: The new album by Steps will be out in the UK on 18 October. The album will feature the new single "After The Love Has Gone" as well as pervious tracks which have been released since the last album, such as Tragedy and Love'S Got A Hold Of My Heart.

19 September 1999: The brand new Steps single is called "After The Love Has Gone". It will be released in the UK on October 4. The video for the new single is set in an oriental street and has the band dressed up in Oriental style with the dance moves to match. The video is already at The Box. The new single is taken from their forthcoming second album.

19 July 1999: Steps are currently trying to break into the US market - they are supporting Britney Spears on her US/Canada tour and will be all over these Countries this year!

18 July 1999: "Love's Got A Hold Of My Heart" was held to the Number Two spot on today's Official UK Charts. Ricky Martin held on to Number One for a second week - here's hoping Steps can move upwards and make Number One next week!

17 July 1999: "Love's Got A Hold Of My Heart" went straight in at the number one spot on the UK's CD:UK chart. It looks like it should make number one tomorrow on the official UK Top 40 - finger's crossed!

10 July 1999: The brand new Steps single will be released in the UK on Monday 12 July! It's called "Love's Got A Hold Of My Heart" and is a classic Steps tune. The single will be available on 2 UK CD Singles and looks likely to be the highest new entry on the charts on 18 July!

13 May 1999: The "Steps Official Interview & CD-ROM" will be availble to buy in the UK on Monday 24 May 1999 from branches of Woolworths! The CD itself is a 40 minute interview with the band talking about their tour, their forthcoming album, etc. answering questions that fans sent in via e-mail. It is packaged in a beautifuly illustrated 6-sided digi-pack. 21 March 1999: "Better Best Forgotten" is still at the Number 2 position in the UK charts.

14 March 1999: "Better Best Forgotten" has entered the UK Singles Chart at Number Two, being beat to the top spot by Boyzone's Comic Relief Record "When the going gets tough". Let make Steps number one for next week!

From Monday 24 May 1999 UK Steps can buy the first ever Official Steps Interview CD. The CD contains a specially recorded interview with the band, and Faye, Lisa, Claire, H and Lee answer some of the many questions which were e-mailed from all over the world by Steps fans. The CD also includes a CD-rom element, which allows the user to take a 'Steps journey' and learn more about the band. Included on the journey is the Steps biography, a checklist of all of the Steps records that have been released, a list of all the tour dates for the forthcoming Steps Tour (in October/November/December 1999), and pictures of all the Steps merchandise, with a special order form. There's also a chance to win a Steps goodie-bag!!! This CD is 100% Official, approved by the band and their management. Steps were really keen to answer their fan's questions and have been involved in this project right from the very beginning.

Claire Richards (nickname Clara) is a Blonde, Green-eyed Leo. She's 5ft 6in and was born on 17 August 1977. She say's she's friendy, loyal, slightly bossy and outgoing. Her favourite food is ice cream, and to unwind she likes to watch the telly with a pizza, a tub of ice cream, followed by a hot bath! She likes The Backstreet Boys, Karen Carpenter and Celine Dion! Claire is also known as Gadget Steps. And the most embarrassing thing she's done? Tripping up a flight of stairs and headbutting a door backstage in front of the whole crew! Oooops!

Ian Watkins (nickname H) has blonde hair, blue eyes and has the star sign of Taurus. He's 5ft 8in and was born on 8th May 1976. He say's he's not shy, caring, happy, fund and likes eating and swimming. He likes Janet Jackson and The Corrs - and he wouldn't mind working with the Backstreet Boys. H is also known as Hyperactive Steps. And the most embarrassing thing H has done? A teddy knocked him on the head whilst on a TV show in Holland and he fell over! D'oh!

Lisa Scott-Lee (nickname Party Steps) is a dark brown/red haired Scorpio from North Wales. She's 5ft 3in and was born on 5 Novemeber 1975. She describes herself as being a typical scorpio - a perfectionist, a good laugh and a big mouth! She's into Robbie Williams, Texas and generally having a good time. Lisa's most embarrassing moment seems to be that she keeps getting caught in the loo! Ooops! Here at POP-MUSIC.COM we say she's a real babe!

Lee Latchford-Evans (nickname Sensible Steps) is a brown haired, hazel-eyed Aquarius. He's 5ft 9.5in and was born on 28 January 1975. He's into going to the gymn, computer games and watching videos. He likes Robbie Williams, Louise and the Backstreet Boys. Lee's most embarrassing Steps moment was falling over whilst on stage! Ouch!

Faye Tozer (nickname Smiley Steps) is a blonde haired, blue-eyed Scorpio who likes walking, eating, watching TV and going to parties. She's 5ft 7in and was born on 15 November 1975. She say's she smiley, determined, professional and excitable. She likes Madonna, All Saints, Janet Jackson and Will Smith. Her most embarrassing Steps moment was when started to sing "Last Thing On My Mind" with her microphone turned off! Silly!!
